This family shoot 😍🙌
This time of year is renowned for it's storms and unpredictive weather.. It had been threatening to rain the whole morning of Jemma + James' wedding and seemed to be holding off... That was until Jemma and her bridesmaids had to get out of the car 😮 then and only then did it decide to bucket down! Only when the girls were safely inside did it stop. Lucky Jemma was one of the most relaxed brides I have ever had the pleasure of photographing and it didn't seem to phase her. Bex x

I get asked by clients all of the time, what style of photography do I create? Why should we chose you as our photographer? I used to think my style was very cinematic and environmentally charged. Don't get me wrong, while I love nothing more than capturing a dramatic sunset in a big open field, or on top of a mountain - watching the light dance around my gorgeous couples while I click away (far out I really do love these shots..) I would have to say that my style of photography is candid. Yep, I love picking a spot in the corner of the room and hiding away so people forget I am there and can act naturally. It sounds plain when you write it... So I made a short movie :)
These two incredible people got married last August at the gorgeous Stamford Plaza Brisbane - and what an absolutely stunning day it was. I loved all of the beautiful moments, congratulations Kari + James!

I was over the moon when Jemma and James asked if I would travel to Dalby to photograph their engagement shoot on their farm. I love travelling and photographing in new destinations and this farm was simply breathtaking. I knew as soon as I drove up the old dusty road and parked out the front of the property, that the shoot would be special. Jemma and James then came out to greet me, all smiles and welcoming and I instantly felt we were a perfect match for each other. I can't wait for their wedding this March!
Such a wonderful day meeting like minded people and learning from the wonderful Nick Ghionis - I love how simple it was to set up and execute these beautiful portraits. I can't wait to use this style on my beautiful brides and grooms in August. It will be a busy month with three weddings, i'm super excited!

A real life love story about two people who meet on holiday in Vegas - An Aussie bloke and an American girl. Who can't bare to be apart and make the move to be together. I can't wait for their wedding this month!
Leana + Kinaz have a beautiful love story that started when they met as young teenagers and blossomed when they were young adults. Both coming from Syria meant that they would always have two weddings so they could celebrate with all of their friends and family. Their main wedding was held in Syria where hundreds of friends, relatives and family celebrated the young couples love. Their second wedding was held at the Stamford Plaza here in Brisbane and I was lucky enough to be involved in it. A gorgeous afternoon with the couples nearest and dearest celebrating in the heart of our gorgeous city.
Gretel was an absolute dream to photograph during her bridal shoot. So elegant and graceful yet more than willing to ham it up for the camera (see the grid below ;)
I am so happy I can now share these images post wedding.
My last wedding, for last year was a beauty! I thought i'd better blog it quickly before my wedding season for 2017 starts!
I am so in love with this beautiful wedding at Hillstone St Lucia. The gorgeous bride was a dream in her Carla Zampatti dress and her girls, oh her girls in their convertible multi-where bridesmaid dresses!!!!!! I am on christmas holidays right now but couldn't help blog this beautiful wedding.
Picture this; a wedding set in a secret garden, a beautiful courtyard space surrounded by manicured hedging, and standing in the middle of it all an elegant bride in a stunning (two piece) modern, Carla Zampatti wedding dress and her groom wearing a dashing suit, oozing personal style with his long dreadlocks. Looked on lovingly by their closest family and friends. A brief ceremony full of loving looks, quite moments and celebrated with rose petals thrown at the giddy couple.
The reception was just as romantic and intimate, located upstairs in Hillstones' Queenslander style venue in their Rosewood room. Given it's name because of the beautifully polished wooden rosewood floors, complete with its own verandah and sweeping views of a rolling green golf course. Delicate florals in mismatched glass vases (with selected flowers, matching the stunning mixed peonie and floral wedding bouquets, thanks to Flowers by Julia Rose) adorned the simply decorated space, save for a delicious lolly bar set up on entrance and a three tier naked cake topped off in some beautiful florals. The cocktail style reception was warm, intimate and full of belly laughs from the hilarious and heart felt speeches.
"Dear Bex, Thank you for making our wedding day photography so relaxed and personable. Your presence was truly calming and your beautiful personality was commented on by many of our guests. Thank you again for making our day so special. Love Sophie and Greg"
Put your feet up, grab a cuppa and have a look at what love looks like. Done simply.
When I am not in the midst of wedding season and photographing gorgeous bride & grooms, I get to hang out with awesome people like Ellie and her one of a kind Australian Cattle Dog, Flick! I seriously have the best job!!
These two were the absolute cutest and had the most amazing bond. We pottered around Ellie's parents property stopping in different locations to snap the pair as they hang out and even though it was one of the windiest afternoons imaginable, we got some beautiful shots.
Originally Ellie was given a Raw Design Media gift card for her birthday to have an equine photoshoot with her (then) clydesdale horse, but as luck turned out Ellie and her horse were not a good fit and we ended up having Ellie's portrait session with her pal Flick.
Flick was a rescue dog, who was born with an unusual birth defect which caused her nose to split down the middle. Ellie welcomed this (then) puppy into her home and not long after, her heart. I think her nose looks like a little love heart don't you!
"Absolutely love Bex's work! Had such a blast being photographed by her she was so lovely and professional! Xx" Ellie
And then there were three... At home, Lifestyle Family portrait session.
These guys were two cute!! All smiles and cuddles. Take me back!
I love documenting weddings from start to finish! I get to capture all the moments, from the butterflies whilst getting ready, family seeing the bride in her dress for the first time (in this case the brides dad and grandma, it was beautiful!) walking down the aisle & the groom seeing his bride-to- be for the first time (this always makes me cry!! and then it's hard taking photos through blurry eyes...) the first kiss, sunset photos together as newlyweds, right through to toasts and the first dance. It is such a whirlwind of a day, that moves so quickly. I love that I get to sit down and relive all the moments whilst editing, then handover these 'moments' which will stay with the couple forever. It is such a wonderful feeling.
We are in the middle of wedding season over here at Raw Design Media with weddings booked right up until next year. I am so excited! The variety of people I get to meet and share in their wonderful day is a privileged experience.
At the end of September was Natasha + Cory's Wedding day. It was only the second time I have met the beautiful couple & yet I couldn't stop laughing and had to fight back tears during all of the speeches. Sneak peaks of their day.

Sneaky Peaks of Emma + Adam's engagement shoot. I can't wait for their wedding in November!
The sun was fading fast for our equine session in this back paddock on the weekend, so we had to work quick. Couple that with a horse who was winding down for the afternoon looking for his dinner. There is always a bit of chaos in the behind the scenes for a photo shoot. Whether it be an unsettled newborn, an active toddler, a hungry pet. In between all the fun though, at just the right moment, we get the shot. In this instance I got loooooooot's of shots :)
Kasey you should do this full time!
Ooooohhhh another Raw Design Media gallery was viewed by its family! 266 images of gorgeous moments from the families photo shoot, ready to sit on the walls of the family home.
